THE HOTEL
80 years of tradition in Bariloche
In 1928, Carniel Atilio and his wife Maria Dal Castel came from Italy to San Carlos de Bariloche and, 10 years later, settled in the Moreno street, where the Hotel is now. Officially inaugurated on April 30, 1938, with nine rooms across two floors, reception, lounge and a shared bathroom, the Nahuel Huapi Hotel was born, named after the lake and the national park nearby.
In 1953, modifications were made, expanding the accommodation capacity to 40 rooms, reaching a total of 78 with the remodelling done in 1964 and 1965.
Managed by three generations of the Carniel Family, the Nahuel Huapi Hotel has 80 years of tradition in Bariloche. Thanks to its familiar and traditional atmosphere, it has become part of the city's history.
