OUTDOORS

Bariloche It is known for its Swiss Alpine-style architecture and its chocolate, which is sold in shops on Calle Miter, the main avenue. It is also a popular base for hiking and skiing in the nearby mountains, and for exploring the surrounding Lake District.

CERRO OTTO

 

“This hill has a main road and numerous mountain trails for mountain biking and short-distance hiking. It is possible to access the top through a path for vehicles or by means of a cable car that leaves from its base. In the upper areas of the mountain you will find, during the winter, tracks for Nordic skiing and others for Andean skiing.”

CERRO CATEDRAL

 

“It is the largest ski center in the southern hemisphere (1,200 skiable hectares) and offers a wide infrastructure of services for the practice of winter sports. It is open all year round and has 32 lifts (among chairlifts, gondola lifts and drag lifts), facilitating the ascent of 28,000 people per hour.”

CHICO CIRCUIT

 

“It is the most traditional route in Bariloche, a captivating walk in which the city, the forests, the lakes and the mountains are integrated into a single landscape. The tour of the Circuito Chico begins in the center of the city. Bordering the southern shore of Lake Nahuel Huapi, as you go along Av. Bustillo, you will find the Club Regatas at km 20.”

GRANDE CIRCUIT

 

A circuit full of original stories and legends that go back to the very beginnings of the Nahuel Huapi National Park. It is accessed by leaving Bariloche towards the northeast, by national route 237. The route crosses the Ñireco stream and the Ñirihuau river. Then, after reaching the Nahuel Huapi lake headwaters of the Limay river (border of the Río Negro and Neuquén provinces), the route will take you through the shores of this river until it reaches its confluence with the Traful river.

CERRO TRONADOR

 

“It is located in the southern part of the Andes mountain range, on the border between Argentina and Chile. It separates two national parks: Nahuel Huapi, in the provinces of Río Negro and Neuquén, Argentina; and the Vicente Pérez Rosales in the province of Llanquihue, Chile.”
